Easter Holiday Top Five and more

Swathes of flowers, afternoon teas, newborn lambs and chocolate egg hunts are all awaiting when you visit the Harrogate District this Easter.

Here are our top five must do's to celebrate the holiday in our District.

1. Take part in an Easter egg hunt
This has got to be top of the list of what to do at Easter whether you have children or are just a big kid at heart.

Take an Easter trail and find hidden golden eggs and bunnies that can be exchanged for chocolate versions. You might even meet the Easter Bunny (or at least a close relative) and capture a family photo!

2. Easter Sunday lunch
A traditional Sunday roast is the perfect way to get everyone together and take time to slow down. Relaxed pub lunches are perfect after a bracing walk in the country air, surround yourself with open fires, stone flagged floors and centuries of history.

To make Easter Sunday lunch an extra special occassion, visit one of the award winning restaurants in Harrogate District. We have several AA rosette restaurants and a Michellin star restaurant that marry superb food with wonderful surroundings.

3. Spring time walks
Blossom on trees, newborn lambs bouncing around the fields and the emergence of life after a long winter, makes walking in the Yorkshire Dales and the countryside, towns and villages of Harrogate District a wonderful experience.

There are many organised walks that allow you to enjoy the scenery without worrying about trail finding and are suitable for children or set out with a map and compass to pioneer your own route.

4. Afternoon tea
Easter is a time to indulge, so take part in one of the most British indulgences of all time- Afternoon Tea. Splash out with a glass of Champagne or look something different with Gluten free cakes and fruit teas.

Many places also offer children's afternoon teas with an exciting array of fruit juices and cakes, perfect for a holiday treat!

5. Easter bonnets and crafts
Take part in time old traditions of decorating an Easter bonnet, painting eggs, willow weaving and even creating your own wooly lamb.

Get the children involved to make keepsakes and memories of your Easter holidays in Harrogate District.

With so much to do and a four day weekend for many, why not make the most of your visit and have a look at our wonderful choice of accommodation in the area. Spend a night under canvas in a tent or yurt or if crisp bed linen and central heating is more your idea of a holiday then we have everything from cosy cottages in the Yorkshire Dales to four star hotels in Harrogate Town Centre and Country Estate Hotels.
