This trail of local artisan crafts and artists runs from Middlesmoor and Stean, near the source of the Nidd, through the thriving artistic hub of Pateley Bridge and Bewerley, past Summerbridge, Dacre, Darley and Hampsthwaite, with some scenic detours, enroute to Ripley and historic Knaresborough. Why not join us for a wealth of natural beauty and inspired art and craft making.
This year we have 33 locations involving over 50 artists and craft makers, working in a variety of media and styles, from painting and print making, ceramics, jewellery, photography, textiles, glass and wood. Some are in Exhibitions, some at home in 'open studios' or as groups in local community centres, sometimes demonstrating their skills.
Look out for our posters and banners. Better still, from early August, collect a brochure from local Tourist Information Centres, Nidderdale Plus, Nidderdale Pool and Leisure Centre, accommodation sites and local shops. The brochure gives details of all the locations, with post codes, the artists and craft makers, with the dates and times of opening.
On the back of the brochure is a large map of Nidderdale showing all the locations. When you get close to a location there will also be clear signs to direct you to the site.
We are grateful for the financial assistance from our sponsors: Pateley Bridge Town Mayor's Fund, The Knaresborough Lions Community Fund, Nidderdale Festival Society and niddimaging. We are also grateful to our many supporters, including: Nidderdale Herald and sister publications, Focus on Darley, Link, Roundabout and Source magazines, Dalesbus for their online support, as well as Nidderdale Plus, Nidderdale AONB and our local shopkeepers.
