Fine Dining

'Eating is purely a method of consuming calories, Dining is an experience!'

Yorkshire can boast some of the greatest of Nature’s Bounty……..mature grass-fed beef, Dales lamb, rare breed outdoor reared pork, game in season and an abundance of fruit, vegetables, herbs and spices, providing the region’s top chefs with the necessary ingredients to deliver the most mouth-watering and inventive of dishes.

However there is more to Fine Dining than just the cuisine on offer. There are three other vital elements required in equal measure to deliver a true ‘experience’ - the wine, the quality of service and an ambiance of indulgence.

When all these ingredients come together then words cannot do the experience justice.

The menu doesn’t need to feature dishes like ‘Poached Langoustine with Champagne Velouté, Caviar and Gribiche’ - when a perfectly prepared plate of Fish and Chips can equally meet the expectations of ‘Fine Dining’ if everything else is also perfect.

The Harrogate District is truly fortunate to have more than its fair share of fantastic cafés, pubs and restaurants delivering great food.

From this love of food has also come a select handful of dedicated and award winning venues that work tirelessly to ensure they get the alchemy of those four key elements just right.  As such the fine dining around Harrogate District is among the best in the country.

Whether it’s a romantic meal for two in a former royal stately home, to gourmet seven course tasting menus in a former 18th century coaching inn and private dining for 100 plus in a historic castle, these elite eateries with years of experience and award winning chefs will redefine what you think of as ‘food’.

All our Fine Dining in Harrogate & District venues listed on this page have been carefully selected based on the level of culinary excellence and service standards they deliver, as recognised by the leading food critics in the industry including the AA Rosette Awards and the Michelin Guide.
