The historical town Knaresborough boasts spectacular views across the gorge to the Railway Viaduct (built in 1851) which is 103 metres long with four arches 27 metres high. Mother Shipton’s cave and petrifying well is situated in the gorge where you can also row on the river or just relax and take in the views at one of the splendid riverside cafes and restaurants.
The ruins of Knaresborough Castle which has a great Museum can be seen high on the hill. Wondering around historic Knaresborough, you will find a market every Wednesday and also a Farmers Market every 4th Sunday, and there's so much more to do.
Out and about Riverside Park is ideally located just two miles off the A1, only 17 miles from York, 4 miles from Harrogate and 10 miles from Ripon. Visit York's quaint narrow streets full of shops, tea rooms and restaurants. All of this is within easy travelling distance of Riverside Park.
Staying away from the towns, you can drive through spectacular scenery to the Yorkshire Dales (approx 15 miles) or the North Yorkshire Moors (approx 20 Miles). Come and see for yourself.
