Nestled in the glorious landscape of the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty you will find the perfect walking companion at Nidderdale Llamas. Home to over 90 llamas and alpacas, this is a day out with a difference that will definitely leave you feeling good.
What could be better than taking in the gorgeous Yorkshire countryside whilst making a new animal friend? The calming and gentle nature of llamas will ensure your leisurely walk or more strenuous trek is a relaxing and fun experience.
With a variety of sessions to choose from, each starting with a very interesting and fun introduction to these unique animals, before being matched to your perfect walking partner, (llama and alpaca speed dating)! you are guaranteed to have a memorable experience, not to mention making a friend for life.
Take in the sights of the farm and stunning surrounding scenery with a Scenic Farm Trek. This short 1.5mile route will see you walk alongside your llama or alpaca as well as meeting members of the rest of the herd before heading back to enjoy a delicious variety of cakes and refreshments.
A half day trek means you can spend a little longer with your fleecy friend. This 3.5 mile trek will take you and your llama through tracks, fields and quiet country roads, spotting wildlife along the way before stopping in a peaceful woodland area for beverages all carried by your llama! Your day ends with a delicious homemade individual picnic at the farm, that caters for all dietary requirements and tastes as you select your choices upon booking.
Spend a full day with Nidderdale Llamas and take on the full trekking experience. Journey between 7 – 8 miles amongst unusual rock formations dating back over 300 million years at Brimham Rocks whilst enjoying unmissable views stretching over 40miles of the Nidderdale landscape. Trek through pretty bridleways and across heather ridden tracks, before finally reaching the farm where you can re-fresh and enjoy a nice cup of tea! All food and drinks are included and provided to a high standard with all dietary requirements catered for.
For those who cannot walk far or at all, the farm also offers llama and alpaca experiences. So, you can still experience these unique animals and gain all the therapeutic benefits that they offer.

Not only does this give you chance to get out into the great outdoors amongst stunning scenery, but it also facilitates exercise and relaxation at the same time! Llamas are very calming and truly enchanting; they win you over with their amazing personalities. Alpacas are fun and entertaining. The hardest part is handing your llama or alpaca back at the end of your session.
How to book your Llama Trek
Llama Treks are pre-booked only as the farm is NOT open other than for pre-booked activities.

The farm operates 12 months a year and 7 days a week, treks and experiences are run based on demand, some require a minimum number of people (and llamas)! For them to run.
