Picture perfect Fountains Abbey

Fountains Abbey, Ripon is one of the National Trust’s most Instagrammed locations.

This summer has seen many of us enjoying UK holidays instead of our usual sunny getaways and in doing so we have been exploring the natural beauty and rich history and culture that surrounds us.

Whether on a fortnight’s break or a daytrip closer to home these days we usually have our phone cameras at the ready to capture every photogenic moment to share with the wider world via social media.

MyJobQuote conducted detailed research to find out which of the UK’s National Trust locations were being posted and shared most often on Instagram during the first weeks of the summer holidays.

The Harrogate District’s Fountains Abbey is at the top of the list, which is no surprise to us as it is such a stunning day out with panoramic views, landscape gardens, statues, follies and water features to photograph as well as the many intriguing angles of the Abbey ruins.
