Wherever you visit in the Harrogate district throughout November there are special events and activities to help you most of your time here. We have picked out just a few to highlight.

Harrogate’s Christmas Market off Montpellier Hill from Nov 14 to 17 is a very Yorkshire Christmas market with local handmade produce.

Free entrance means you can bring the family time and again to enjoy the food, music, gift stalls and fair ground rides. Father Christmas will even be there with a reindeer or two.

The large marquees ensure that there is plenty to see in any weather.

The market, in the heart of the town, is easy to travel to and find by car or public transport and is ideal if you also want to take advantage of the local shops, galleries and antique centres.

This market is very popular due its relaxed, friendly, family atmosphere and beautiful Christmas lights.  

Head to RHS Garden Harlow Carr to see their Winter Glow Illuminations Event from Nov 21 - Dec 28 for a truly spectacular experience as a range of lighting effects show the gardens like you have never seen them before. You can follow the illuminated trail from dusk on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 4:30 – 8pm with reduced admission prices from 4:30pm if you are only coming for this event.

Alice in Winterland is the new seasonal adventure at Lightwater Valley, Ripon this Christmas from Nov 22 to Dec 30

If you venture this way looking for fun and thrills you will encounter hundreds of magical lantern displays along with Alice, the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, Humpty and friends.

The city of Ripon is known to have been an inspiration for Lewis Caroll and his stories, so this nearby theme park are celebrating with family themed fun sure to delight visitors of all ages.

Ripon Cathedral Christmas Gift and Food Fair is on Nov 23 and is bound to be popular with over one hundred stalls of bespoke gifts and foods. This is a spectacular setting in which to enjoy some shopping, music, turkey sandwiches and mulled wine. There will also be activities for children and a grotto for Father Christmas.

The very popular Knitting & Stitching Show returns to Harrogate Convention Centre from Nov 28 - 1 Dec 1. It is a wonderful opportunity to see hundreds of likeminded crafters showcasing art, design, workshops and demonstrations, featuring international artists and specialist suppliers.

Pateley Bridge Christmas Vintage Fair & Traders Market will be taking place on Nov 30 at the Memorial Hall.

Everyone is invited to come along for a local event with unique and antique items for sale, refreshments and Christmas cheer plus the chance for a professional themed mini photoshoot.
