The summer holidays may be over but the September sunshine is always the perfect reason to get out and about, explore the Harrogate district and spend time at our wonderful attractions before thoughts turn to winter.
If you have not visited recently, you will find they are all operating in new ways to maintain social distancing with enhanced hygiene measures to ensure everyone is safe. It is important to check online and plan ahead as you will need book in advance - so just make sure you ‘Know Before You Go.’
Relaxing Gardens
If you want to enjoy a relaxing day out why not head to Newby Hall and Gardens. The gardens, playground, railway, restaurant, river cruises and all their exhibitions are open until Sunday 11th October.
The beautiful RHS gardens at Harlow Carr are a joy to wander through at this time of year as the summer borders give one final flourish, as are the stunning National Trust gardens at Beningbrough Hall and Fountains Abbey.
If you have never been, the Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park at Grewelthorpe is a true hidden gem just waiting to be discovered. Located in the beautiful countryside between Masham and Ripon, it is home to over 80 contemporary sculptures set within 45 acres of breath-taking garden, inspired by the Himalayas. It is well worth a visit before they close for the winter on Sunday 1st November.
Family Fun Days
For a great family day out, magic and adventure awaits at Stockeld Park where the Summer Adventure continues every weekend through September. In order to keep everyone safe, they are operating as an outdoor park only so go prepared and remember your wellies and waterproofs if it looks like rain!
You can also enjoy the magic every weekend this month at the Studfold Adventure Trail where the pixies and fairies will delight the younger ones as they explore this imaginative attraction in the heart of Nidderdale.
September Adventure
If you are looking for adventure this September, then look no further than How Stean Gorge in Nidderdale, adventure activities that underground, overground, wet and dry activities – all Covid 19 ready.
These include things like their via ferrata course, abseiling, gorge scrambling, caving and canoeing, How Stean Gorge offers an adrenaline fuelled day out to remember!
