Here comes Half Term and Halloween

October is a wonderful time of year to wrap up warm, head out and enjoy some of our outdoor visitor attractions, but make sure to book online before you go.

Mother Shipton’s Cave and Petrifying Well

If you’re ready to be bewitched at Mother Shipton’s this half term then you’re in for a treat. Explore the haunted village and spooky forest but watch out for Halloween witches, ghosts and creepy skeletons around every corner. There’s lots of ghoulish fun to be had with photo opportunities and fancy dress competitions. Open from Sat 24th Oct to Sun 1st Nov, 10am to 4.30pm (last admission 3pm).

Lightwater Valley

Something spooky is coming to Lightwater Valley near Ripon this half term, Sat 24th – Sat 31st Oct, 10.30am – 5pm as the North Yorkshire theme park hosts a Hocus Pocus week full of spooktacular activities to keep young families eerily entertained in-between rides.

Newby Hall

For the first time this October, Newby Hall is opening for a haunted Halloween half term of frighteningly good, family fun from Sat 24 Oct - Sun 1 Nov (closed on Mon 26 Oct). Take the Wicked Woodland Walk and ride the Ghost Train, but only if you dare!  Gates open from 10am – 4pm (gardens cleared 4.30pm).

Stockeld Park

There’s lots of spooky happenings at Stockeld Park this half term with their ever popular Halloween Adventure. Enjoy the colours of autumn as you explore the Enchanted Forest, but keep an eye out for wicked witches lurking in the trees. Head into the magical maze more Halloween thrills and don’t forget to pick a pumpkin before you go home. Open 10am – 5:30pm (last entry to activities 4:45pm).

How Stean Gorge

Ghosts and Ghouls not for you? If you want to try something new and are up for an adrenaline fuelled day of adventure this half term, then How Stean Gorge in Nidderdale is a must. With underground, overground, wet and dry activities, such as caving, gorge walking, Via Ferrata and abseiling you’re sure to have a fabulous, family day out to remember. Open 9am - 5pm, 7 days a week.
