Enjoy an early morning spin down to the shop, burn off that hearty Yorkshire pub lunch by cycling the couple of miles to the pub and back, take on a longer route through Nidderdale or even tackle one of our killer climbs for a real test of strength.

Since the Tour de France visited us in 2014 and fell in love with our landscape, our people and our raw enthusiasm, Yorkshire has truly embraced cycling and whether you like the rolling road, the rough terrain or tranquil lanes and cycle ways you won’t want to leave the bike at home when you visit us.

With a cycle friendly accommodation provider you can be properly prepared for your ride, fill your water pack or bottle, have room to have a quick fettle before you set off on your ride and then somewhere to rinse off dirty kit when you return. And when you aren’t riding you can relax in the knowledge that your bike isn’t in the way, and is safely out of the elements.

Whether looking for functional group accommodation like a bunk barn or hostel, or the comforts of a cosy B&B or hotel to rest up for the next day, you will find our bike friendly accommodation page has something for you.

To complete your visit there are great cycle routes and challenging mountain biking, and a host of knowledgeable cycle shops to ensure you have everything you need offering route advice, technical support and guided rides from the shop.

There is so much cycle friendly accommodation across our district you can stay right in the heart of town or in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales and have your bike on hand for a gentle explore, or a full on tour of the landscape that won the hearts of Tour de France fans around the world.
