The Himalayan Garden & Sculpture Park
Set in the beautiful countryside between Masham and Ripon, The Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park is home to over 80 striking contemporary sculptures, situated within 45 acres of stunning woodland and gardens. The microclimate of the valley makes it fertile ground for the rare blue poppy, alongside the North’s largest collection of rhododendrons, azaleas and magnolias, with nearly 20,000 plants. The Park features works by internationally renowned artists, all inspired by nature. The beautiful tranquil valley location is further enhanced by a Pagoda, Summerhouse, Norse Hut, Contemplation Circle and Himalayan Shelter, all complimented by three lakes and decorative bridges.
New for 2022, ‘Bursting from the Slumber’ is a cascading installation of more than 1300 ceramic Meconopsis (Himalayan Blue Poppies) created by Harrogate-based sculptor Anna Whitehouse, with the help of local schools, colleges and public workshops. The poppies have been installed on a large bank in the Himalayan Garden to create an 80 square metre visual masterpiece.
A wide selection of refreshments are available from our Tearoom and Horsebox; serving hot and cold drinks, freshly prepared sandwiches, soup and hot food along with delicious sweet treats for visitors to enjoy and eat outside. Our woodland playground is open and a special selection of plants are available for sale from the Buddha Garden.
Winners of the Yorkshire in Bloom Tourist Attraction Award in 2018 and 2019 and Best Business Award 2019, the gardens were shortlisted in the Garden of the Year category for the BBC Countryfile Magazine Awards 2020.
The Park has featured on BBC Country file’s and have attracted a celebrity Patron, Joanna Lumley, who described it as “a slice of heaven”.
Dogs on a lead are welcome.
