The Victorian Laundry Holiday Cottage, at Beningbrough Hall
Enjoy a relaxing break in the grounds of the National Trust Beningbrough Hall estate, with out-of-hours access to the gardens, views over the estate and stunning walks right from your door.
The upper floor of the Victorian Laundry has been lovingly converted to a self-catering apartment in this unique and splendid setting, accessed through the ground floor laundry exhibit with its original dolly tubs and mangles.
The property enjoys exclusive after-hours private access to the gardens and grounds including the beautiful walled garden and borders, lovingly cared for by the National Trust gardens team - perfect for a summer evening picnic, or a romantic stroll. There is also the newly refurbished Wilderness Play Area – the ideal place for young ones to burn off energy.
On open days you can head into the hall itself, just 50 yards from the apartment, to explore the art on the walls or find out about the previous residents of Beningbrough, including the laundry maids who worked and slept where you’re staying. On weekends and school holidays, the Brew House Café opens in the laundry courtyard, literally steps from your doorway so perfect for that special morning latte or cuppa. Beningbrough Hall, Gallery and Gardens is a great day out for all the family and when you stay at the Laundry, its right outside your front door.
This beautiful country house estate is within easy reach of the historic city of York or the cosmopolitan spa town of Harrogate. A short walk will take you to the village pubs of Newton-on-Ouse, and there are many other walks available from the property including along the riverbanks of the River Ouse.
The 2 bedroom apartment sleeps up to 4, and features stunning views over the hall and parkland, a cosy open plan space and well equipped kitchen, with garage parking for one vehicle, you can end every day returning to the hall through the country park and approaching along the impressive driveway.
