Ensemble Kopernikus Piano Quartet with Ian Tindale play Schubert, Faure and Walton
Led by Ian Tindale, the Ensemble Kopernikus Piano Quartet is an exciting young chamber group, praised for its ‘imaginative and demanding’ programmes, combining well-known works with rarely- performed gems.
Here, the young Fauré’s much- loved Piano Quartet No. 1, with its undertone of his emotional turmoil, is paired with a little-performed quartet by Walton, composed when he was an undergraduate in Oxford for the then Dean of Christchurch, who later became a bishop in Ripon.
“Inspired performance, assured, superbly played, well balanced and with excellent attention to the ensemble sound” chiswickw4.com
