Great Yorkshire Show

Great Yorkshire Showground
North Yorkshire

Tel: 01423 541000

The very best of rural life will be celebrated at the 159th Great Yorkshire Show.

TV stunt horses will make their debut in the main ring while some famous faces will be making an appearance across the showground.

RAF Falcons will perform a parachute display for the first time while exclusive new fashion designs will be modelled on the Great Yorkshire Show catwalk.

Fordson is celebrating its 100 year anniversary and a range of agricultural machinery spanning the years from 1917 will be on display on the President's Lawn.

The Great Yorkshire Show is recognised as England’s premier agricultural event attracting over 130,000 visitors every year.

This year, as well as the 8,500 animals including cattle, sheep, pigs, pigeons and ponies, the Charolais Cattle Society will hold its Summer National Show with 75 head of cattle expected.

The newly revamped collecting ring has seen the YAS invest £70,000 to improve conditions under the direction of Olympic show jumping legend Graham Fletcher.

The two-month project has seen the ring brought up to Olympic standard, sure to be a hit with the showjumping fraternity aiming to win the prestigious Cock O’ the North Championship.

Look out for a new street food court selling a range of local and international cuisine including from the showground’s very own food hall and café Fodder, the only one of its kind in the UK where 100% of profits go back into a rural charity (Yorkshire Agricultural Society).

Food and cookery are always popular with well-known chefs like Rosemary Shrager cooking up a storm live on stage throughout the three days, while green-fingered visitors can enjoy fabulous floral displays and show gardens.

The show is organised by charity Yorkshire Agricultural Society which also hosts Springtime Live and Countryside Live. The charity also runs onsite café Fodder, Yorkshire Event Centre, Pavilions of Harrogate, Harrogate Caravan Park.  Events at the Great Yorkshire Showground contribute £47 million a year to the local economy. All profits go back in to the Yorkshire Agricultural Society.

Please note dogs other than assistance dogs are not allowed on the showground.
