Messiah

Music lovers and church goers will be delighted to know that this year Handel's Messiah will be given in St. Peter's Church Harrogate just before Christmas. John Longstaff, the Director of Music at St. Peter's, noticed that no town centre performance of Messiah was planned this December, so decided to fill the gap by reprising his acclaimed performance from Holy Week 2018.
On Tuesday 17 December at 7.15 John Longstaff directs the Choir of St. Peter's Church, Vocalis Chamber Choir and the Harrogate Handel Players in this most popular of Handel's oratorios, The soloists are local soprano Heather Jane Taylor, mezzo-soprano Lucy Morton (formerly a chorister at St. Peter's), tenor Toby Ward (ex choral scholar at King's College Cambridge) and the bass soloist is internationally renowned opera singer Andrew Greenan, currently appearing in Boris Godunov in Mainz, Germany.
