Nature and Literature come together in the glorious landscape of Upper Nidderdale, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.  NiddFest is a unique, family-friendly festival, offering a weekend of inspiring talks and fun-packed outside events for nature lovers of all ages.  Create music from birdsong, join mini writing retreats in the woods, rub shoulders with world-class writers.

Authors include Fiona Mozley, who was nominated for the Man Booker for her novel Elmet, a contemporary rural noir steeped in the literature and legend of the Yorkshire landscape and its medieval history. Helen Scales’ Eye of the Shoal, is a guide to life, the ocean and everything, and Miriam Darlington’s book Owl Sense tells us what we would see if it were possible to follow owls through the night sky. Rob Cowen, author of Common Ground, which was voted third in a poll for the nation’s favourite nature book, also features. Talks include the Yorkshire Vet, Julian Norton, and BBC Unsprung presenter, Lindsey Chapman.
