Pop-up Art Exhibition Arrives in Harrogate

3rd December 2013

Categories: News

Marcus Levine, regarded as the creator of figurative nail sculpture, unveils his latest creations.

Having exhibited this year in various Yorkshire locations and in London’s famous Cork Street, in Mayfair, Marcus has now secured gallery space in the beautiful spa town of Harrogate. His pop-up exhibition is only open from now until the first week in the New Year. Don’t miss the chance to see his incredible use of the humble nail to make truly inspirational works of art.

Working on white wooden or stainless steel panels, on sculptured pieces of green oak, drift wood and other materials, he hammers tens of thousands of nails to create both figurative and non-representational works of art.
His three dimensional sculptures appear as paintings casting their own shadow. Therefore light plays an important role in the character of each piece. They can appear as light as a pencil sketch or as dark as a charcoal.
His subjects include ballet, equestrian and the study of classical nude, along with his non representational work. He also has two large monumental sculptures in the city of Bradford.

Marcus’s work is unique and instantly recognisable – selling his work internationally it has found its way into many beautiful homes and apartments.

The gallery is located on 32 Commercial Street, Harrogate and is open Wednesday-Saturday, 10:00-17:00 daily, and Thursday until 20:00. Private viewings are available on request.
