To celebrate the splendour of our forests and woodlands the Yorkshire Agricultural Society is hosting a photographic competition to encourage people to visit, enjoy and photograph their favourite trees and woodland areas in the UK.

Photos can be of forests, woodlands or individual trees. 32 finalist photos will be selected and their photos displayed in the Forestry Pavilion at the Great Yorkshire Show 2014 where visitors will vote for their favourite photographs during Tuesday 8 - Thursday 10 July, after which the winners will be announced.

There are 2 categories:
• Junior – up to and including age 16 years old
• Senior – 17 years old and over

Each category winner will receive £50 worth of Amazon vouchers for photographic equipment the overall winners’ prize will be £100 worth of Amazon vouchers.

To enter the competition please download and complete the entry form and send a 7x5” photo by 2nd June 2014 (please also supply a high resolution jpeg file so the photograph can be enlarged for display at the show if required).  Address details are available on the entry form. You can submit as many entries as you like.

This year’s Great Yorkshire Show will take place Tuesday 8 -Thursday 10 July 2014, and celebrates its 156th anniversary. Show opening times are Tuesday & Wednesday 7.30am - 7.30pm, Thursday 7.30am - 6.30pm.
