Extended Opening for Visitors over the Tour de France Weekend

23rd June 2014

Categories: Business News

As the Tour de France weekend arrives, visitor facing services of Harrogate Borough Council will be extending their opening hours to help visitors get the most from their time in this beautiful part of Yorkshire.  Some other services will be closed on the weekend to allow the facilities and staff to be used most effectively in making this event the huge success we all know it will be.

Harrogate Tourist Information Centre will open until 6pm on Friday to welcome the anticipated large numbers of visitors as they arrive in the town for the event.

On Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th July Ripon, Knaresborough and Harrogate Tourist Information Centres will be open all day, from 8am until 8pm, to ensure visitors are able to get any information they may need over the weekend.

In addition to the extension of visitor information services the Mercer Gallery, Royal Pump Room Museum and Knaresborough Castle will also be offering extended opening hours to allow the thousands of visitors to get a taste of the history & heritage of the area.

The closures for the weekend cover all the leisure centres and swimming pools in the district with the exceptions of Nidderdale Pool and Leisure Centre, and Ripon Leisure Centre which will be open on Sunday, but not Saturday.

The Harrogate Turkish Baths will be closed on Saturday as the race passes by the front door, but they will re-open on Sunday 6th July as normal.

For detailed information of opening times & contact information for any of the facilities please check their pages on this site.
