It’s arrived! The 2015 Visit Nidderdale AONB guide has just dropped onto our desks and it’s bigger than ever, packed with a wealth of places to visit, things to do and events and shows taking place in this unique area covering 233 square miles from Masham in the north to Ilkley and Otley in the South.

The guide is a rich source for anyone visiting the region – whether you only have an afternoon or are here for a week or more!

This is a landscape of extremes – from lush rolling pasture to wild moorland – and a wonderful environment to experience how the changing seasons impact on the wildlife – enjoy the at a glance guide of what each month has to offer the nature lover.

Adventure seekers can find out about opportunities to explore challenging landscape above ground at Studfold Farm Nature Trail and How Stean Gorge and underground at Stump Cross Caverns, whilst delightful villages offer a more sedate opportunity to while away the hours.

The lush farmed landscape of Nidderdale is home to many producers of wonderful food and drink, as well as restaurants, cafes and pubs which source this great produce – tempt your tastebuds!

A full programme of events in the area includes guided walks to explore the flora, fauna, archeology and rich industrial heritage with special events targeted at the younger members of the family.

The area has long nurtured the creativity of its residents and the annual NiddArt Trail and Niddfest Literary Festival celebrates the artistic and cultural life of the area.

If you love walking, the area hosts not one, but two walking festivals and as well as numerous shorter walks and can boast no less than 3 long distance trails within its boundary.
