Conyngham Hall Park is a beautiful green space on the edge of Knaresborough, perfect for family games and picnics.
The grounds of Conyngham Hall are open for walking and ball games by the banks of the River Nidd, and up by the hall there are hireable games for families and groups.
The expansive grounds have been used to create a large 18 hole pitch and putt course that means a good competition can develop as you make your way around the course, and the distances to each hole will allow a good range of scores for players.
For those who find themselves waiting for others to sink the ball the country park surroundings are a delightful environment to sit and enjoy, with the large sky often playing host to Red Kite.
Games for Everyone
Conyngham Hall also includes two tennis courts for hire, with an all-weather surface, and surrounding fence that limits those lost ball delays.
For more casual fun, great for young ones, there is a 18 hole putting green for the less serious putter and a traditional wooden crazy golf course with 9 holes that is always popular with young children.
More at Conyngham Hall
The park and gardens at Conyngham Hall are known as a great place for activity, and pleasant sun trap so Ice creams and refreshment are available at the Games kiosk and there are open spaces for young ones to burn off more steam.
Behind the Hall is the more secluded “Horse Shoe Field” so named from the U shaped path that follows the river back around its edge. Along the River bank in the field are a number of spots ideal for paddling, ball games, exercising your four legged friends or just enjoying a riverside picnic.
All this is situated just a few minutes from Knaresborough town centre, where you can also find Knaresborough Castle and Courtyard Museum, and the thriving Knaresborough Market held every week on a Wednesday.
