Ripon Tourist Information Centre
Get the inside track on this miniature city by visiting Ripon Tourist Information Centre. Located in the Georgian splendour of Ripon's impressive town hall building, the office directly overlooks the hustle and bustle of the ancient market place.
Important Notice: The Ripon Tourist Information Centre will reopen on a 1 Aug. A new office layout will allow our team to continue helping you with all your visitor needs. Opening hours will be Tuesday to Thursdays and Saturdays, and we will close for lunch 1pm to 2pm.
Pick up a copy of Ripon Revealed for a journey of discovery into Ripon's ancient charms and thousand year old traditions. Before you venture out to Lightwater Valley or Fountains Abbey, make sure you discover the delights afforded to visitors who stay awhile inside the city limits - independent shops and cafes, award winning parks and gardens and shady canal side walks.
Our friendly and experienced team offers a wealth of first hand local knowledge, whether you need somewhere to lay your head for the night, relax at the end of a long day's sight seeing or keen to plan the rest of your visit.
We can also help you to plan ahead, including advance reservations for your next destination.
Ripon Tourist Information Centre has a wide range of publications, local guides, maps and souvenirs to help you make the most of your visit.
A Thursday "in town" is a must when you can experience the colour and noise of the traditional Yorkshire market, then call in to browse our range of exclusive local gifts and souvenirs before setting off for home.
We have lists of events taking place locally, regionally and nationally and can process ticket sales for local events.
There is also a wide range of travel information available including Bus/Rail timetables as well as information on Walking and Cycling routes.
We also provide extensive local information (eg where to park, shopping, local markets, Farmers' Markets and antiques).
