Walking tour : The Story of Harrogate, A citadel famous for its Springs

From your hotel in Harrogate, Steve will take you into Low Harrogate, telling you the background to Harrogate’s unique history, to the Royal Hall. From here the tour starts with stories of the opening of the Hall, how its name changed and famous people who have played there. Our tour continues past the Majestic onto Swan Lane and the Old Swan Hotel for the real story behind Agatha Christies disappearance! Our route now takes us to the Pump museum, where people would come and drink the strongest Sulphur water in Europe! We then find out who made a sweet that took away the horrible taste of it. Our walk concludes at the top of Montpelier Hill with the story of Bettys and who is the film star that loves Yorkshire Tea!

This tour takes around 1.5 hours. Maps available for further exploration….
